6. Go out for a walk. Seriously, some days you will not feel like doing squats beside your chair, or even eating well. And that’s fine, really. Some days are just less fun than other. But keep this in mind, the worst thing you can do to yourself is not to leave the office at all. Go out and go for a walk. It will help you clear your mind and you will stay active. Fresh air and nature are your friends!
7. Drink a cup of green tea during your lunch break. Green tea has been used for centuries as a very healthy tea, and it helps your metabolism become more active. It is also known as a good relaxation method. So instead of reaching for the fifth cup of coffee, try drinking green tea. It is good for cleansing your body, and definitely much healthier than coffee. Also, it will help you stay hydrated.
8. We are all spending too much time staring at the screen. Of course, during the work hours you need to work on your computer. But lunch break is your time to relax and- try to lose some weight. Therefore, you need to stop wasting your precious break time in front of the monitor. The Internet won’t go anywhere. Ever. Also, by enjoying your food without distractions, you are chewing your food properly and therefore eating right.
9. If you really want to lose weight during your working hours, say goodbye to the elevator for some time. Hit the stairs instead! If your office building has available stairs, go to your office by climbing them. Set this as a challenge to you. If your floor is to high, try to go at least one part by stairs. This will get your blood flowing, heart pumping and your calories will be burnt quicker than before!
10. Make your own lunch! It’s not that hard, really. If you order in every time it’s time for lunch, you are hardly controlling what you are eating. Many restaurants use dressings and sauces with tons of fats and sugars, and you really don’t need that if you are trying to lose weight. Instead, make a healthy sandwich or salad. Make a little tradition out of it. Bring in something new every week.
11. We know, the easiest thing to do when you’re thirsty or just bored at work is to walk to the vending machine and take a Coke. However, sugary drinks are really bad, folks. And not only to our extra pounds, but also to our general health. They contain too much sugar and additives which are being accumulated in our bodies. Instead, drink more water. Drink at least 8 cups of water a day and 0 cups of soda.
12. Don’t forget to treat yourself! Setting challenges with no treats can be awful. And finally, that’s not what you want. You want to lose some weight and feel good. Now, if you have a sweet tooth, it is totally okay to have a little treat. You just need to make sure you are treating yourself moderately. Instead of eating chocolate cake, try eating some blueberries or a small square of dark chocolate.
13. Spending all day indoors is definitely not going to help you lose your weight. Hiding from the sun is one of the worst things you can do to your health. Of course, we are not saying you should stare into the sun for hours, because that wouldn’t be normal, right? We are saying you should leave the office during your lunch break, sit on a bench, and enjoy the warmth of the sunshine. This way you won’t lack of vitamin D and you will not feel depressed.
14. Stay hydrated. Even if you have
a lot of work to do, a lot of people to meet you need to stay hydrated. And the
best way to do this is to drink enough water. Our recommendation is to start
your lunch break by drinking a full glass of water. This way you will eat less
and you will hydrate your body. This is essential not only for weight loss, but
also for the healthy skin and good brain functioning.
15. And finally, stretch! Use your lunch
break for a little, healthy stretch your body
and muscles desperately
need. Sitting in front of your computer all day
makes our shoulders and back extra tight. This unhealthy posture is also keeping
us away from being more active and losing more weight. So
in order to make your body more active and avoid possible injuries, take a few
minutes to stretch out like a pro.
Thanks for your time.
